Short notes on what changed in the app for learning Norwegian with comics.
All 21 Komiks·Lab updates: new comics, tests, games and languages for learning Norwegian.
- 🌍 The whole app now speaks your language: buttons, explanations, the games and the player ratings — 1093 bits of text that used to stay in English for German, Polish, Turkish, Lithuanian and partly Arabic.
- ⚡ Switching the language works straight away, without reloading the page, and each language is loaded on its own — so the app did not get heavier for anyone else.

- 🌍 The app now really speaks eight languages: every line, every word and every comic’s description is translated into English, Ukrainian, Norwegian, Arabic, German, Polish, Turkish and Lithuanian. In German or Polish only about every third word used to be translated, and whole sentences almost never.
- 🔎 Search engines can now find the comics in any of those languages: every comic and the tests page have their own address in each language, with the title, description and dialogue in that same language.

- 🔐 Two-factor authentication is now in the settings: at sign-in the site also asks for a six-digit code from an authenticator app. Any will do — Google Authenticator, Authy, 2FAS, Aegis.
- 🔑 The moment you turn it on you get eight backup codes. Save them: each works once and it is the only way in if the phone is lost. We will not show them again — only hashes are stored.

- 🪟 There is now a Windows installer (.exe): it adds a shortcut to the desktop and the Start menu, and the app opens in its own window without an address bar.
- 📦 Two versions: a 2 MB light one that is a shortcut to the site, and a 120 MB full one that puts every comic and all audio on your disk and works with no internet at all.

- 🧩 A new game, Crossword: words from one theme cross in a grid, and the clue is the translation plus an emoji. Recognising the word is not enough here — you have to recall it and spell it out, which is what fixes å, ø, æ and double consonants.
- 💡 There is a one-letter hint and a “show the answer” if you are properly stuck. Forty-seven themes to pick from.

- 📖 Six new comics: “Buying clothes” (A1), “At the train station” (A2), “Reporting a change of address” (B1), “The employment contract” (B2) and two parts of “Questions about your home country” (B1).
- 🎯 “Questions about your home country” is the block they actually ask in the oral Norskprøven: capital, population, neighbours, language, currency, food, climate, holidays. The answers are short on purpose, so you can swap in your own country.

- 🔑 Sign in without a password: enter your email and a message arrives with a link and a six-digit code. The link lets you straight in; the code is for when the email is on your phone and you want to sign in on a laptop.
- 📱 The session stays on the device, so on your own laptop there is nothing to type again.

- 📱 A test on a phone now takes exactly one screen: the header and footer step aside, only the question and the answers stay.
- 🎮 Answers look like a game: four colours and four shapes (▲ ◆ ● ■), full-height buttons you hit with your thumb first time.

- 🔀 A new task, “build the sentence”: the words are shuffled and you put them in Norwegian order — the very V2 rule everybody trips over.

- 🔔 Notifications from friends: “we are friends now”, “your friend passed a test”, “your friend reached B1”. The bell in the header shows how much is new.
- 👥 Your friends now show up right on your profile: avatars, who is online and who is still waiting for approval.
